Excerpt from ”Intensifying Hearts & Dreams” – season 14, episode 18

INT: The Intensifying Heart Club & Leisure Centre, at a table in the VIP section.

DR. ADAMSON, DADDY, and ANGÉL GABRIÉL are seated at the table, eating huge greasy steaks, drinking brandy and smoking big cigars. The table is covered by piles of money and gold jewellery. FRANK is lying on the floor next to the table in a rapturous trance. DR. ADAMSON, DADDY and FRANK are wearing the finest clothes and ties you can think of, while ANGÉL GABRIÉL, the younger man, is wearing a simple black suit and dark glasses.

DADDY

Well then, gentlemen, this has been another fine and successful day. Now that THE MAYOR is finally satisfied, I feel it is only a matter of time until we have full control of the Committee.

ANGÉL GABRIÉL

The Committee today, the town tomorrow, am I right, fellows?

DADDY

Young man, you be quiet about matters you don’t understand, and speak when spoken to. DOCTOR?

DR. ADAMSON

You have my word and my loyalty, as always. The Institute is at your beck and call. However, I have had to submerge my entire bank account in brine for the time being. Medical business. So my contribution to our cause will have to wait until the money has been hung up to dry. A week or so.

DADDY

That will work out quite splendidly, my good medical chap. Now, as for the business with my unruly daughter…

ANGÉL GABRIÉL

I have arranged matters so that her pesky female friends will keep trying to convince her that PJALTUR has left the town forever. They should keep her hysterical doings in check for now.

DADDY

Good, good. His death has been kept off the official records?

DR. ADAMSON

Of course. His unfortunate accident during the children’s study visit to the Institute will remain between us.

Editor’s note: What are you doing here, Chad? Pjaltur was still alive after the incident. He even discussed it with Marcia in season 13, episode 3. Pjaltur died from double malaria fifty-one episodes ago, have you already forgotten??? Rewrite!

DADDY

Well then, it seems the only remaining impediment to our schemes are those few members of the Committee that have yet to embrace our ideals.

FRANK raises his hand and places it on the arm rest of DADDY’s chair.

FRANK

Don’t worry, my old friend. I have methods to deal with the weak-thinking individuals. You three adults know more than anyone that I, FRANK, have a masterplan for this club & leisure centre, this city, and by extension, mankind itself! Nothing can stop men with money and willpower when they put their heads together and work with gusto to achieve their dreams! I will put those members’ names on the deathlist.

ANGÉL GABRIÉL

Don’t you think that’s taking it too far, FRANK sir? Might’nt that course of action give rise to the common folk’s suspicions?

DADDY

You be silent, young fellow! The next time you dare to question FRANK, you will find your own name on the deathlist! Or barring that, your mortal body will be given over to the DOCTOR and the Institute.

DR. ADAMSON

We can always make room for another specimen at the Gastronomy Institute.

FRANK

Now now, gentlemen. The young studly man was simply confounded. No need to act harshly.

Suddenly, there is a commotion at the entrance. THE MAYOR bursts into the room, pistols drawn.

THE MAYOR

This operation is busted, cockroaches! I realized your plans. I have been working with MYSTERY MASK all along to undermine you.

DADDY

The town’s famous masked stranger who turned up suddenly the day before yesterday!?

THE MAYOR

That’s right. And I have replaced your loyalists on the Committee with my ten cousins from the countryside.

FRANK

Those simple adults?

THE MAYOR

That’s right. And I’m going to marry SALINA “THE ROOSTER” RASKOVA, whereby I’ll gain access to her childhood friend MARCIA’s mind not to mention her body!

DADDY

So these were your plans. And I almost thought you had finally come over to our way of thinking. Well then, little do you know, I have already made arrangements to marry SALINA to my loyalist man ANGÉL here. Come on over, PASTOR JING, let’s get this wedding ceremony on the road.

PASTOR JING emerges from his hiding place under an adjacent table.

ANGÉL GABRIÉL

Wait what the Jesus Hell?!?
